Interserve International

NextGen

nextGen… We’re in our 20s and 30s, passionate about our missional God and about exploring how we can participate in His mission internationally.

We gather for fellowship, food and friendship twice a month — once for nextGen Encounter where we hear stories of those serving with Interserve cross-culturally; and once for ‘Pray & Play’ where we pray for all our Interserve partners. Our community is about encouraging, feeding and nurturing each other in our journey in and with our God with the hope that we too will be serving cross-culturally soon!

WHY go to a
Play and Pray?

Why P&P – community, chaos-friendly/messy church, encouragement, sharing, updates on partners and intelligent ways to continue to pray!
K Cooper

I go because I love how it is to “have a crack at praying intentionally”. That means I don’t have to be a “professional prayer” to be joining so I feel right at home when I join. It really has been about trying different ways to pray for our missionaries and ourselves – sometimes quite creatively! I also go because if I was to become a missionary one day, I would like to know that there are people praying for me back at home. It would mean a million to know someone is praying for you when you feel all alone in a battle far away from others. I hope to get to know some of the partners better and feel more committed to praying as I continue to have a crack at this. There is no doubt God is shaping and teaching me as I attend these sessions! Lastly, there is a sense of intimacy and belonging in the group as we share food and play with kids together.
