The Product Designer will keep up to date with emerging fashion trends, work with others in the design team to develop products, create rough sketches and detailed drawings, write specifications, coordinate activities for workers who draw and cut patterns and construct garments, to create sample bag or product. S/he will adapt existing designs as needed for efficient mass production and will design two collections per year, a Spring/Summer Collection and a Fall/Winter Collection.
Designers need artistic ability as they must be able to express their vision for the design through illustration. They also need good communication skills, computer skills (especially CAD and Adobe Illustrator), creativity, and decision-making skills.
