Arabic language is desirable however teaching in English is possible with a translator. There are openings particularly as a lecturer employed by the university. It may be possible to also carry out suitable research.Term: 6 months leading to more than 1yr [EXP 26/02/10] Veterinarian 93An experienced Veterinarian able to teach different veterinary subjects such as anatomy, pathology, and microbiology at the faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in a university. Teaching in the Arabic language is desirable, however teaching in English is possible with a translator.Term: 6 months leading to more than 1 year [EXP 26/02/11] >> BACK TO TOPCENTRAL ASIAAgricultural Project Manager 290The job description is flexible, but could typically involve the following: meeting with farmers who grow fruit and vegetables to discuss issues and give advice, as well as undertaking research using various hybrids and irrigation methods. In addition the job could involve interfacing with local government authorities, writing proposals to secure project funding for agricultural projects, preparing and monitoring project budgets, and supervision of workers. There is also a need for an applicant with substantial animal husbandry experience to help develop a project in this area.Organisation involved in providing agricultural assistance to poor farmers, micro-credits to farmers and small businesses, and drinking water for rural areas. On staff, they currently have one expat family and several local personnel. Visas are provided, and positions are voluntary Term: More than 1 year [EXP 30/06/10] Fruit Farmer/ Horticulturalist 310The job would involve being part of an existing team working with local farmers to assist and train them in developing profitable fruit-growing farms. Experience in management of pome fruit (apples, pears) and stone fruit (apricots, plums, peaches) orchards would be particularly helpful. In addition, a background in fresh fruit marketing and storage would be useful.
