INTERSERVE DAY 2014Interserve Day 2014 was a great success! This key annual event, held 10 May 2014, was a great day, with dynamic and relevant guest speakers including a number of our Kiwi Partners and On Trackers (short-termers). Updates were provided on Interserve in New Zealand and worldwide, and how God is moving with us; we heard about and prayed for countries where hardplace mission happens, and enjoyed great food and great fellowship. KEYNOTE SPEAKERSOur keynote speakers were Paul and Pat Stock, Interserve Partners from the US who serve in Pakistan. "Paul and Pat are an amazing couple serving amongst the Hindu tribals through ethnomusicology and contextualised discipleship/leadership training. I went to see them last February, and will never forget sitting into the early hours of the morning huddled amongst a multitude of tribal men in a little makeshift village square at a funeral wake. All these Hindu minstrels and holy men were asked to sing and perform in honour of the dead leader. About 2am they invited Paul up, and - with a small band of his ‘devotees’ - he sang, totally tribal style, explaining the gospel. The respect and welcome that they were given was beautiful to see... truly the aroma of Christ."
