There are many events - organised by us and others - where Interservers share and present, including: Partners on Home Assignment reporting back; topical events or seminars; events we organise together with other mission groups or movements, such as rewire
, or the Destination World
events. And there are events arranged by others that we support and endorse, because we either believe in what is shared and offered, or believe they present a great learning opportunity for those wanting to grow in mission.
On this page we want to offer reports, testimonies, photos and so on from our past events. If you have attended one of our events, and would like to submit content for this page, please do contact us.
Book Launch by Beulah Wood
Auckland, 10 July 2011
Dr Beulah Wood's latest offering to the Christian community, “The People Paul Admired: The Leaders of the New Testament House Churches,” has been seven years in the making. On July 10 we celebrated the launch of this book at Balmoral Baptist Church with about sixty people in attendance. This well researched book brings to life the 1st century church leaders who receive a brief yet significant mention in the New Testament Epistles. This book will also be launched in the US market in August. For those wishing to purchase a copy please contact Interserve NZ.
30 October 2010, Auckland
It is always a good thing to journey with people as they consider their next step toward global mission. On October 30 we conducted an eXplore day at Hillsborough Baptist Church. What a great mix of young and not so young representing six ethnic groups. Some were taking their final step prior to placement, for others, they were responding to a general intrigue in God’s global cause. All were taken a little further along on the journey, and what a privilege it was to walk with these people.
We focused on two great needy countries in Afghanistan and Mongolia, well represented by two of our great Partners. The ethnic lunch, eaten in true ethnic style, was a hit and no one balked at the thought of eating a small dried fish prior to getting their strawberries and ice-cream!
It was so good to get such positive feedback from those who attended. We are obviously providing something really valuable to those considering cross-cultural movement. If your church would like us to run a similar event, please contact the Interserve office
The West, Islam and Grace: responding with grace to our Muslim neighbours
24 August 2010, Auckland
The evening was a great success! We had approximately 60 people attend, and received very positive feedback, both on the wonderful dessert, and our speaker, Colin Edwards, Team Leader of Urban Vision. Urban Vision is the cross-cultural arm of Interserve in the UK, and facilitates ministry among the visible minorities in Britain (i.e. people from Asian, Middle Eastern and North African cultural and religious backgrounds) with the aim of helping them to hear and understand the gospel.
Colin has some teaching content available, similar to what he shared, that we hope to be able to offer through this website in the near future. Please contact us
if you are interested in learning more.
